CMU Athletics annually offers 50 individual and team camps hosted in the same facilities as the Chippewas' 16 NCAA Division I programs. Some of the premier facilities in the state and the region are located on the CMU campus, including Kelly/Shorts Stadium (football, cap. 30,255), Jack Skoog Indoor Track, Lyle Bennett Outdoor Track, Theunissen Stadium (baseball, cap. 2,046), Margo Jonker Stadium (softball, cap. 1,000), the Indoor Athletic Complex Turf Bay and the multipurpose Events Center which houses basketball, wrestling, volleyball and gymnastics events.

Inside the SAC there are 2 aquatics centers with 25 yard, 6 lane pools. One of the aquatics centers offers 2 saunas, a 15 person spa and an adjustable floor to make a shallow area for children. A bowling center that has 12 bowling lanes, computerized scoring, bumper lanes, shoe rentals and glow bowl. The sports area consists of 6 full length basketball courts used for a variety of activities. The courts can be used for basketball, volleyball, badminton, indoor tennis, pickle ball, conferences, receptions, and live entertainment. Specialized sports are offered by 6 full glass racquetball/wallyball courts, 6 billiards tables, table tennis, and a 3 lane indoor track. There are conference rooms for meetings, banquets, bridal showers, classes or other group gatherings. Outside of the SAC there is a sports complex that has 4 softball diamonds and 7 multi-purpose fields that can accommodate flag football, rugby, lacrosse, soccer, and cricket. Also outside is an 18 hole disc golf course that is open for public use or tournaments.

The privately-funded CMU Events Center, scheduled to open in late 2010, will be a year-round multipurpose facility that will enhance Central Michigan University's role in offering educational, social and cultural endeavors to the greater mid-Michigan area. For the nearly half-million visitors CMU welcomes each year, the Events Center will be the only building of its kind in the mid-Michigan region that is capable of hosting cultural events, speakers, commencements, sports camps and athletic events. Located in the middle of the state, it is an ideal location for visitors from every direction, attracting high-profile events such as state high school tournaments, expos and concerts, making Mount Pleasant the center of Michigan's sports and entertainment industry. The facility will feature a 10,000 square-foot lobby and reception area, a redesigned arena with upgraded comfortable seating for 5,300, a new 12,000 square-foot practice facility, a student fitness center, and academic teaching space.

For the outdoor enthusiast, our parks offer a multitude of activities and areas that include camping, river, lake, and pond fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, cross-country ski trails, sledding hills, playgrounds, sand volleyball, horseshoes, boating, wildlife observation, various vegetation areas, picnicking wetland areas and disc golf. Other facility, feature and amenities include pavilions, boat launches, fishing platforms, mooring area, bath houses, interpretive areas, cabins, bridges and an artesian well.

The newest and premiere recreation facility in Michigan. The facility features 8 full-size basketball/volleyball courts. Includes 2 tennis courts and 3 racquetball courts. Morey Courts also provides a full fitness center, aerobics room, and an interactive youth exercise room. Another popular feature is the walking/jogging track and full service deli. Numerous programs are offered including sports training, leagues, tournaments, camps, clinics, and more.

Features four parks, Island Park features 2 lighted full-size basketball courts and 4 lighted tennis courts and 4 sand volleyball courts. Sunnyside Park features 1 lighted full-size basketball court, 6 small sized soccer fields, 2 full size soccer fields and a tee-ball complex. Horizon Park features 1 softball diamond, 3 soccer fields, 1 football field and 1 tennis court. Pickens Field features 2 little league diamonds and 2 farm league/softball fields.
